Das Musical zeichnet den Weg des Franzosen Louis Braille (1809-52) nach. Er wollte sich mit den Diskriminierungen, die er als Blinder ständig erlebte, nicht abfinden und suchte nach einem Weg seinen Wissensdurst zu stillen. So entwickelte er das letztendlich nach ihm benannte Punktschriftsystem, das noch heute Verwendung findet.
