Das 1927 uraufgeführte Musical versteht sich als Satire auf Amerikas Einstellung zum Krieg – im Stück kommt es aus banalen Gründen zu einem Käse-Krieg mit der Schweiz… Der Plot ist heutzutage wohl kaum noch ernst zu nehmen, doch die Trumpf-Karte des Stückes dürften die Songs der Gershwin-Brüdern sein.
